Our beautiful redheaded daughter Candace aka Candy is 12 years old and has severe autism. Candy is non-verbal and is a amazing painter! But, even though Candace is non-verbal and unable to communicate through words and has trouble interacting with others she is able to express herself through her paintings and inspire the world!
We feel "Candy" is giving us all a unique little glimpse into her world and allowing us to see what she sees, and feel what she feels with her painting! It must be a bright happy world! What do you think?
We put Candace's paintings on facebook and have been flooded with inquiries on how to purchase Candace's paintings from around the world! Also, people have commented on how amazing our daughter's paintings are.
Candace has a very unique colorful happy style of painting that is all her own. She seems to know how colors blend together perfectly. When she paints she becomes very happy and laughs which is priceless. We are so proud that Candace is able to express herself through her art.
We decided we wanted to share it with the world to raise awareness of her condition. Autism currently affects more than 2 million individuals in the U.S. and tens of millions worldwide. Moreover, government autism statistics suggest that prevalence rates of autism have increased 10 to 17 percent annually in recent years and these numbers are rising.
Painting acts as therapy for Candace as she expresses what she thinks and feels on the canvases. Candace's paintings are hanging in Park Ridge City Hall, Illinois Senator Dan Kotowski's Chicago Office and Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky's Chicago Office. Candace's paintings have also appeared in two art books "Artism: The Art Of Autism" and "The Art of Autism: Shifting Perceptions".
Please come over and like Candy's Autism Artist "Like Page". Candy's Art has inspired the World!! Candy would like that!
Faith, Love, & Hope!
