If you visit the studio, Carol Sharp will be the first to show you around, introduce you to everyone, and then she will show you her latest piece of artwork. Carol will also tell you she didn’t know she could draw until she started working at Creative Foundations. Her sketchbook is filled with increasingly well-done drawings. In her early 60’s, Carol decided to get serious about her work-and it shows. Her art is the perfect example of practice makes perfect. Taking reference from ‘How to Draw’ books, collecting images found online, and learning from fellow artists, she continued to challenge herself. Sure, some days are frustrating and she has to walk away from her work. Great art cannot be forced-and she has learned that lesson too. Carol herself has begun teaching newcomers where to start and the steps they can take to become a better artist. After all, they may not even think they can draw!
