About Sara Malpass Sara Malpass is a master list-maker. Reading through books and magazines, she catalogs what she absorbs with mounds of lists. Other times she notes her emotions or creates other diaristic entries. Her missives to the viewer seem to be serenades of her daily encounters with the world. Malpass’s lists can take the form of spare minimalist ink drawings on blank fields or as essential parts of her maximalist and often overheated abstract paintings. Sarah Lane (Center for Creative Works): Sarah Lane’s work centers around repeated colorful patterns. Typically composed of dots or flowers, her compositions are lively yet regimented, all elements evenly spaced across the page. Aside from her 2D work, Sarah is very interested in basket weaving, and has created several large baskets out of donated fabric strips. Sarah lives with her sister in Philadelphia.
